A nurturer, a nurse, and a NASCAR fan driving her way “True North” in scientific communications.

How many full-time jobs do we fill these days? Mother, nurse, scientist, and more? These are just a few responsibilities Jennifer Meyering, RN, MS, CMPP, serves in addition to her leadership position as Scientific Director at AlphaGroup Medical Communications. The recipient of the inaugural AlphaGroup “True North” award, Jennifer exemplifies the company’s pillars of Precision, Integrity, and Passion. Having been nominated and voted as recipient by her colleagues acknowledges her outstanding guidance and delivering best-in-industry scientific, medical affairs, and outcomes communication services.

Jennifer spends time with her son, supporting him as he participates in both water polo and swimming.

She is passionate about travel; her journeys have taken her across the United States, the Continental Divide, and the Atlantic Ocean to places including St. Petersburg, Russia.

In her role at AlphaGroup, Jennifer is the scientific lead on multiple accounts across various therapeutic areas including, but not limited to, oncology, ophthalmology, inflammation, ulcerative colitis, and neurology. She reviews content written by others, including medical writers, to improve clarity, flow, content, and grammar while ensuring scientific integrity. Her deliverables for accounts include manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, review articles, medical affairs materials, regulatory documents, and HEOR publications. She also provides scientific direction and develops strategy for medical communications programs and develops content for new business opportunities.

Prior to joining AlphaGroup, Jennifer was a freelance medical writer. She developed clinical content in a variety of products including clinical research studies, study summaries, manuscripts, abstracts, scientific posters, slide decks, healthcare learning modules, healthcare protocols, and continuing education modules. She was also a senior clinical writer at Wolters Kluwer Health-Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. Before working in scientific communications, Jennifer was a clinical nursing instructor at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA, and served in various critical care nursing positions at El Dorado Hospital and Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, AZ.

Jennifer earned her Master of Science in Health Service Administration from University of St. Francis, Joliet, IL; and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ.

In her personal time, Jennifer spends time with her son, supporting him as he participates in both water polo and swimming. She is passionate about travel; her journeys have taken her across the United States, the Continental Divide, and the Atlantic Ocean to places including St. Petersburg, Russia. Jennifer is an avid NASCAR fan, which she enjoys viewing from home. She spends her free time reading, cooking, and trying new foods with family and friends.
